Get to know Hope Reformed Church

Our Vision

At Hope Reformed Church we seek to be a church growing in relationship with God, His church, and our community.

Our Mission

Hope Reformed Church exists to make and mature disciples through God's Word for God's glory (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our Core Values

Grounded in Scripture

We believe in the infallibility and full sufficiency of Scripture as the foundation for all aspects of Christian faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Authentic Worship

Our worship is reverent and sincere, honoring God in spirit and truth, blending traditional and contemporary elements. (John 4:24)

Seeking the Lost

Since we believe that the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), and He calls His church to follow His mission, our church will also seek the lost. (Acts 1:8)

Growing Together

Since we believe that the church is the body of Christ, our body of believers will seek to grow together in love as we grow in Christ. (Ephesians 4:15-16)

Serving with Grace

Since we believe that we are saved by God's grace and not our own doing, our people will seek to serve others with grace. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

What We Believe

The church holds to Reformed theology with emphasis on justification by faith alone apart from works, the authority of God's Word, and the importance of gathering for worship on the Lord's Day.

We are part of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARPC), a denomination with over 200 years of history in the United States. Our Reformed heritage is rooted in the work of Jan Hus, Martin Luther, and John Calvin.

It is important to note: you do not need to be Reformed to be a Christian or to worship with us.

Our History

Hope Reformed Church was established in 2017 as a church plant in Millbury, Massachusetts. We are the only ARP (Associate Reformed Presbyterian) church in New England.

We are a small but growing congregation, praying that other ARP churches will be planted throughout New England. People gather from many different backgrounds each Sunday, united by our love for Christ and His Word.

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Josh and Sarah Kitchen

Rev. Josh Kitchen

Josh and his wife Sarah have three children: Makenna, Connor, and Reagan—all of whom play active roles in ministry. Before establishing Hope Reformed Church in Massachusetts, the Kitchen family served as missionaries in Papua New Guinea with Seed Company and Wycliffe Bible Translators. Their years overseas taught them the beauty of cultural diversity, the power of simple faith, and the truth that when God leads, you just take the next step—even if you can't see where it's going yet. That next step eventually led them to the Blackstone Valley. What started as a Bible study in Millbury grew into the church family that is now Hope Reformed. When he's not preaching or serving as a Chaplain in the U.S. Navy Reserves, you might find Josh pruning one of his bonsai trees or cheering on his kids at local games. Josh holds an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and an M.P.A. from Seton Hall University. His heart for leadership and discipleship is shaped by his studies, his travels, and his desire to see more churches planted across New England. One of his favorite Bible verses is Psalm 34:8: "Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him." Oh, and if you ever want to swap travel stories, Josh has been to every continent… except Antarctica (for now).

Our Leadership
